Commencement of work of SLIDA at the dawn of 2020

SLIDA commenced its official functions according to the Circular issued by the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government in accordance with ten key policies aimed at achieving a fourfold outcome namely a productive citizenry, a happy family, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation in relation to the policy statement of HE the President “Vistas of Prosperity and splendor “

Accordingly the Acting Director General, SLIDA Mrs .K.M.S.D. Jayasekara started the program at 9.30 am on the 1st of January 2020 and hoisted the National Flag in the green environment of SLIDA in the presence of all the staff members.

The gathering observed two minutes silence to commemorate the heroes sacrificed their lives on behalf of our mother land after singing the National Anthem and the SLIDA Song.

There after the acting Director General and the staff read the Oath of the public servants, giving an assurance creating a well disciplined ,well respected and law abiding society with “ vistas of prosperity and splendor “ aimed by HE the President. Further the oath had been given to create people centered economy through development of physical resources ,focusing on sustainable environment management and further to perform each and every way the role entrusted to the entire public service for the implementation of public policies and goals , efficiently , productively with firm determination and utmost dedication ,honesty and with loyalty to the people with a view to meet the challenges of developing the well protected motherland .

The Acting Director General delivered a brief speech on the them based on the necessity of ensuring the prompt, honest and unwavering contribution of all members of the staff to create a productive citizenry, happy family and a disciplined society as SLIDA contributes to create an excellent public service through its training programs.

Further she briefly explained how the National Policy Framework constitutes ten key policies aimed the above targets which gives the first priority for ensuring the National Security , then come the friendly Non- aligned ,foreign policy , an administration free from corruption ,New Constitution that fulfills the people’s wishes , Productive Citizenry and a vibrant Human Resource , People’s centric Economic Development , technology Based Society , Development of Physical Resources , Sustainable Environmental Management and Disciplined ,Law Abiding and values based society and emphasized that SLIDA is always developing training programs aiming those targets.

SLIDA is highly concerned on protecting her green environment and used this voluble opportunity of the Special National Tree Planting Program -2020 to plant some new trees in the garden.

As usual, chanting of Seth Pirith and anusasana by the Buddhist Priests of the Sri Jinendra Rama temple of Narahenpita was held at the end of the program as blessings for the New Year.
