Appointment of Two Hundred and Fourteen Accountants to the Public Sector Institutions

SLIDA completed five months Induction Training program for newly recruited Accountants and the letters of appointments were handed over on 27th June 2019, to post them to the vacancies all over the country. The Director General (Acting) welcomed all, while appreciating the highest commitment offered by all the parties including the Hon Minister, Secretary of the Ministry, his staff and the staff of SLIDA as well as outside Resource Persons.

Hon Minister of Public Administration, Disaster Management and Rural Economic Development Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara distributed the letters to the new Accountants at the SLIDA Auditorium (Sanhinda). Wishing the good luck to the new Accountants Hon Minister emphasized that the need to fill the existing vacancies in the Divisional Secretariats help accelerating the economic development of the country through proper utilization of the limited funds available.

The Secretary to the Ministry Mr. J.J. Rathnasiri the also participated at the occasion and stressed that Accountants should assume duties at the given place without trying to change the place where they were posted as they were appointed to the places where the real need arises.

SLIDA expects the new Accountants will be able to deliver an excellent service to the people of this country, as they are well equipped with all the relevant subject areas related to the service. The new Accountants will assume duties in the respective places with effect from 1st July 2019 and SLIDA wishes them a fruitful journey of the public service which they have started.

The new Accountants organized a talent show to display their skills and capabilities in front of the Staff of the Ministry and staff of SLIDA in order to offer their gratitude for developing them as full qualified and well equipped public servants.
