The co-developed programme on Foresight and Innovation for Public Service Excellence; a joint initiative between the Ministry of Public Administration and Law and Order, the Presidential Secretariat, the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA), and Citra Social Innovation Lab successfully concluded during October 8-12, 2018 at Heritance Hotel Ahungalle.
Honourable Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Minister of Public Administration and Law and Order inaugurated the programme on October 8, 2018 and elaborated the importance of public officer’s decision making to achive country’s economic and social development while safeguarding citizen’s rights. Actg Director General SLIDA, Mrs Kumari Jayasekara also participated at the inauguration.
The objective of this programme is to build an exclusive cohort of public service officials who will be exposed to new ways of development planning, calculated risk-taking, foresight, and integrated development services, thereby cultivating efficient public service delivery to meet the current development visions of Sri Lanka. It will be vital in strengthening the efforts to build a public sector that is forward-thinking and is equipped with the right tools to face the country’s ever-changing challenges.
The comprehensive residential programme was tailor-made to suit the requirements of the public sector to strengthen and transform them to become champions in the sustainable development process of our country. 30 officials selected from six All Island services participated at the training programme.
