Green Energy Champion Sri Lanka II has been initiated by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, and which is implemented by Deutshe Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Sustainable Energy Authority.
Out of eighty applications the evaluation team has selected five applications and the fine tune workshop and the competition hold on 12th and 13th October 2017 at the Ocean Colombo. SLIDA has selected for the five top competitors among the all applications and evaluated the team SLIDA’s activities in relation to the Green Energy. It is highlighted that SLIDA has initiated various Green Energy activities such as completion of Energy Audit, fixing a 72 kW solar system, Urban compost Garden, Home Garden, RFID doors in the hostel and selected among the top five of the competitors. Final presentation of the competition has conducted in front of the jury members of the competition including HE the Ambassador of the Germany and the other jury members. Mr.K.Prasanna Chandith , Director, SLIDA presented the final presentation and explained the SLIDA’s future green activities and theme of SLIDA “Government Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Network Project (GREEEN)” in front of the jury members. The jury comprise the HE the Ambassador of the Germany, Representative from the Ministry of Power and Energy, Representative from the Energy conservators Association and representative from Sustainable Energy Authority.
The final evaluation has done by the jury members and they have selected the SLIDA as the 2017 Green Energy Champion.
