Conducting examination is an integral part of SLIDA training programs. For this purpose, its examination division was set up with the establishment of SLIDA in 1982. The scheme for conducting examinations had been prepared by a committee headed by Mr. P. Kariyawasam, the then Commissioner of Examinations with Mr. G. Wickramarathne, Deputy Director General of Education, and Mr. A. Vedamulla, Superintendent of Examinations at the time.
Over the years, apart from SLIDA examinations, this division had been entrusted with conducting certain examinations related to the public service and the State Owned Enterprises at the request of government ministries, departments and SOEs. These include recruitment, promotion, and efficiency bar examinations as approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Generally, efficiency bar examinations in the public sector are scheduled to be held twice a year enabling the respective officers to pass them within the stipulated period given in their Service Minutes or Schemes of Recruitment. To avoid long delays occurred in conducting these examinations affecting the career progress of the officers concerned, SLIDA had been entrusted with conducting them strictly as scheduled.
Ever since SLIDA was entrusted with this responsibility, all such examinations have been conducted on time maintaining the highest standards, and issuing results by the required date. Therefore, you can count on SLIDA as a reliable partner for the examination services your institute needs.
